Current vs Comparison-Period Revenue Metrics

When reading our guides and descriptions related to your revenue metrics, you may see us refer to both current and comparison-period metrics.

What's the difference?

When contrasted with comparison-period revenue metrics, current revenue metrics are those that we use only your current subscription data to calculate, such as your Monthly Recurring Revenue, Total User Count and Average Revenue Per User.

Comparison-period metrics on the other hand, are calculated using a combination of your current and past subscription data. Examples of this are your Churn Rate, Conversion Rate and Net MRR Change.

These metrics are dependent on the adjustable comparison period on the top-right of the revenue metrics page:

They are also identifiable by the clock icon on each card that contains a comparison-period metric:

Which metrics are available in the data exports?

Because of the complexity of displaying changes to your subscription data over time in a spreadsheet, at the moment we only have current revenue metrics available in our formula-backed data exports.

We're working on creating a similar export for comparison-period metrics, and will update all users when this is available!
